Diabetext (Diabetes Monitor)

Diabetext enables people with Type 1 Diabetes to record their glucose levels using their existing cell phones. After taking their blood sugar, the user enters the readings into the phone and sends it to their CareSpeak account.  The readings are then charted showing glucose levels by time of day and the developing trends over time. Charts are easily accessed on-line and can be forwarded to physician via e-mail.

Diabetext is especially useful for caregiver parents whose child suffers from Type 1 Diabetes. Once the child has recorded their readings with the cell phone, the values get automatically forwarded to the caregivers phone, giving him/her peace of mind. If the child forgets to report their readings, a message is automatically sent to parents after a pre-set time (e.g. 20 minutes) to alert them to call child. More importantly if the reported glucose readings are out of the pre-set safety range, an urgent alert is automatically sent to the caregivers phone.
